Daniel Peyton Pens London Times Article on Gender Pay Gap Reporting

March 30, 2017

McGuireWoods London office managing partner Daniel Peyton wrote an article for The Times discussing a new rule that will require UK employers with more than 250 employees to report compensation data starting April 5, 2017. The rule aims to expose gaps in pay for men and women.

In the March 23 article, Peyton questions whether the requirement will succeed in solving underlying, complex factors that contribute to the gender pay gap, and discusses additional considerations outlined by the House of Commons Women and Equalities Committee to combat the problem.

The article, titled “The gender pay gap is a symptom of a wider problem, not the cause,” is available to subscribers.
