McGuireWoods Recognized as a 2013 Best Law Firm for Women

August 5, 2013

McGuireWoods LLP today announced that the firm has been named one of the 2013 “50 Best Law Firms for Women” by Working Mother and Flex-Time Lawyers. This is the fifth time McGuireWoods has been named in the survey, now in its sixth year.

The award recognizes law firms with family-friendly policies and business development initiatives that retain and advance women into the leadership pipeline. The results are based on multiple criteria, including policies regarding maternity leave, compensation, reduced-hour and flex-time policies, leadership, and development and advancement of women.

“Setting policies and programs that help develop, advance and retain our lawyers is a top priority for the firm,” said Tom Cabaniss, managing partner of McGuireWoods. “We are honored that the firm’s commitment to supporting women lawyers has again been recognized.”

Joy Fuhr, national chairwoman of the firm’s Women Lawyers Network, added, “We take great pride in the firm’s commitment to advancing women in the legal profession as we now have more women leaders at the firm than ever before. It is critical that we continue moving forward in this effort.”

The full list of law firms will be featured in the August/September issue of Working Mother magazine, and on workingmother.com and flextimelawyers.com.
