McGuireWoods’ Amber Walsh Ranked Among Most Influential Women in Mid-Market M&A

December 19, 2016

McGuireWoods Chicago partner Amber McGraw Walsh is among 35 women honored nationally in Mergers & Acquisitions magazine’s list of “The 2017 Most Influential Women in Mid-Market M&A,” recognizing professionals whose work and achievements shape the middle market.

Walsh, chair of the firm’s Healthcare Department − which is ranked among the 10 largest healthcare practices by the American Health Lawyers Association − has nearly 15 years of experience representing a wide range of providers and industry leaders. Her clients include hospitals and health systems, dialysis facilities, ambulatory surgery centers, physician-owned hospitals, multi- and single-specialty medical practices, and healthcare industry entrepreneurs and investors. She co-created and co-chairs McGuireWoods’ annual Healthcare and Life Sciences Private Equity and Finance Conference held each February in Chicago − a two-day event that draws lenders, investors, and healthcare and life sciences executives together to explore strategies for closing transactions and achieving growth. She also co-writes The Healthcare Investor, a McGuireWoods blog.

In its profile of Walsh, Mergers & Acquisitions noted that she has been involved in a number of mid-market deals that have helped reshape the healthcare industry landscape.

“To be recognized among these accomplished women from the legal, corporate and private equity worlds, each of whom leads the most prominent middle-market M&A deals, is an honor,” Walsh said.

McGuireWoods ranked among the top 10 law firms in two highly respected league tables for the number of U.S. mid-market M&A deals it handled for clients during the first nine months of 2016. The firm placed seventh in deal count for U.S. transactions valued up to $500 million in Bloomberg’s Global M&A Mid-Market Legal Advisory Rankings as well as in Thomson Reuters’ Mid-Market M&A Legal Review.
