Corporate Counsel Rate McGuireWoods Among ‘Best of the Best’ for Delivering Value to Clients

Firm Makes BTI Brand Elite List for Fifth Straight Year

March 23, 2017

Corporate counsel rated McGuireWoods among the “best of the best” law firms for innovations that enhance value for clients and recognized it as a “premium worthy” firm in BTI Consulting Group’s 2017 Brand Elite report.

The firm placed 21st in the rankings, marking the fifth year in a row that BTI recognized McGuireWoods in the report based on 633 in-depth interviews with legal decision makers at companies with $1 billion or more in annual revenue. Firms are rated on their performance in nine areas that most affect their brands and positions in the market.

McGuireWoods was one of only eight firms rated the “best of the best” as “value drivers” for making changes in processes or client experiences to add value. The firm ranked as a leader among firms that clients recommend first to peers and colleagues without prompting; for delivering new and valuable services that other firms do not; and for delivering “premium worthy” service for which clients would pay above-market rates.

The firm also was recognized for bet-the-company litigation; for being more likely than other firms to be a long-term industry leader; for using technology more effectively; and for being “client service strategists” that make changes other firms don’t to improve the client experience.

McGuireWoods’ commitment to extraordinary service was underscored in comments clients made to BTI interviewers.

“They care about getting to know our business,” said one client, a deputy general counsel with a major utilities company. “They are flexible and use technology to help us manage costs.”

“They are always available, very responsive, and have valuable, highly specialized expertise,” added an associate general counsel with a leading energy company.
