Working Mother Names McGuireWoods a Best Law Firm for Women

July 30, 2017

McGuireWoods has been honored as a “Best Law Firm for Women” for 2017 by Working Mother magazine, the eighth time in the survey’s 10-year history that the firm has been recognized as a top workplace for women. Working Mother collaborated with the American Bar Association’s ABA Journal to compile this year’s report.

The annual list spotlights just 50 U.S. firms whose policies promote the advancement of women and work-life balance. Judges considered criteria such as representation of women and women of color in key leadership roles; development, retention and promotion of women lawyers; and parental leave policies.

McGuireWoods earned special recognition for providing customized leadership training and a development initiative that puts women lawyers on a path to becoming equity partners. The report also noted that the firm provides flexible parental leave programs that help lawyers make successful transitions back to work.

“McGuireWoods and our clients value the important contributions of women lawyers, and the firm continues to lead the way in providing a supportive environment that allows all of our talented lawyers to thrive,” said Joy Fuhr, a partner at the firm and national chair of its Women Lawyers Network. “This recognition by Working Mother is another testament to the firm’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.”

Working Mother Media (WMM) publishes Working Mother magazine and its companion website, workingmother.com. The Working Mother Research Institute, the National Association for Female Executives and Diversity Best Practices also are units within WMM.
