McGuireWoods partner Ryan Purpura, chair of the firm’s oil and gas practice, was quoted in an Aug. 11 WSJ Pro article on energy-focused private equity firms focusing on opportunities in less-crowded spaces.
Purpura noted, “One thing we’re noticing is a rise in private-equity funds that are probably a little bit more focused on the lower- to middle-market space.” He added that debt-focused investment firms also are capitalizing on the lack of traditional banking credit available in the sector.
